Heating Equipment
This fabric is woven into a tube or sleeve, enabling you to effortlessly cover straight or curved pipelines without any seams. This sleeve is made of lightweight fiberglass yarn, which renders it lighter in weight and more convenient to handle. The thickness of the sleeve is 0.012 inches (0.3 millimeters).
In order to harden the original fabric into a serviceable form, you are required to use the appropriate resin or epoxy resin for your specific project.
The available diameters of this sleeve are 0.5 inches, 0.75 inches, 1 inch, 1.5 inches, 2 inches, 3 inches, 4 inches, and 6 inches.
The SINTON woven sleeve can easily and repeatedly conform to the shape of the product, adapting to geometric changes similar to those of prosthetic limbs and hockey sticks. This not only enhances the overall performance but also minimizes the weight and maximizes the strength. The shape and size of the sleeve precisely match those of the component it is pulled over. When the sleeve is pulled over a part with a varying cross-section, the orientation of the fibers, the thickness, and the degree of yield in the weave will change at every point along the length of the part. These changes are predictable and reproducible, facilitating the easy and precise fabrication of composite components.
The SINTON weave is seamless, ensuring that all the fibers collaborate in the reinforcement process to bear the load. The fibers within the SINTON sleeve are oriented along the load path. For instance, a 2-inch diameter sleeve used in the manufacturing of a goalie stick is pulled down to 1.1 inches on the handle, forming a low angle that enhances the stiffness. When the same sleeve is pulled over the blade of the goalie stick, the woven diameter increases to 2.3 inches, creating an angle of 54.4 degrees, which boosts the impact resistance.
The woven biaxial sleeve has the ability to contract or expand when pulled or pushed, causing its diameter to decrease and its length to increase, or vice versa. As a result, it is extremely challenging to measure the woven sleeve by length during the cutting process. Measuring by length may lead to a reduction of the final cutting length by plus or minus 25% or even more. To address this issue, we measure all our sleeves and cuts by weight rather than by length. This approach ensures a more accurate final cutting length. Even with this method, there may still be a deviation of plus or minus 5% in the length.
This product is sold by the linear yard (determined by weight). Each unit will yield a piece that is 36 inches long. If you order more than one unit, we will provide the sleeves as a continuous piece.
The diameter of these sleeves will increase if the two ends are squeezed together, and it will decrease if the two ends are pulled apart.
